Pearl Abyss sets October 30 release for Unknown Journey DLC
The first paid DLC for Crimson Desert Enhanced adds ocean and seafloor exploration, ship building and romance content, priced at 27,800 won.
Pearl Abyss will release Unknown Journey, the first paid DLC for its open-world action adventure game Crimson Desert Enhanced, globally on October 30, according to digitaltoday.co.kr. The add-on was pushed back two weeks from an originally planned October 16 date.
The DLC moves exploration from land to the oceans and the seafloor. Players can build ships to sail between islands, craft diving suits to search undersea ruins and treasure, and fight new enemies underwater.
Unknown Journey also adds life content: romance and marriage with certain characters, a management system for renting and operating facilities to earn in-game currency, and expanded housing features. It is priced at 27,800 won and will be sold on PC and console platforms.
Awards and outlook
Crimson Desert Enhanced was nominated for Best Game of the Year at the Golden Joystick Awards 2026, whose nominations were announced on October 26. It appears in three categories in total, including Best PC Game and Best Soundtrack.
Crimson Desert launched on March 20 and sold 2 million copies in one day and 5 million in 26 days, passing 6 million cumulative global sales by June. In August, Pearl Abyss lowered its 2026 Crimson Desert revenue forecast from 644.1–734.8 billion won to 468.9–497.3 billion won, after second-quarter Crimson Desert revenue fell about 49% quarter-on-quarter to 136.1 billion won.
Pearl Abyss is also preparing a Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game targeting release in the first half of next year, and is developing DokeV for the second half of 2028.
