Cyberpunk 2077's update 2.5 has launched with a new quest that serves as a prequel to Edgerunners 2, according to gamesradar.com. The quest follows the last job of Team King and is set before the events of the show.
The mission introduces four characters — King, Meshuga, Miguel and Emily — and takes players into a previously unexplored part of Night City. The same voice actors who appear in Edgerunners 2 were brought into Cyberpunk 2077 to play them.
Paweł Sasko, associate director on Cyberpunk 2, said in a CD Projekt Red blog post that he wanted update 2.5 to be more meaningful than the Edgerunners patch. In 2022, CD Projekt Red released patch 1.6, known as the Edgerunners Update, which added transmogs, cross-progression and more.
Following Edgerunners 2 and update 2.5, Cyberpunk 2077 has reached its highest Steam player count in three years.
