Decky Xbox Dashboard plugin swaps Steam Deck home screen for Xbox-style UI

The community-made plugin is on GitHub and installs through Decky Loader with Developer Mode enabled, the developer says Claude AI helped build it.

A community developer has released a plugin called Decky Xbox Dashboard that replaces the Steam Deck's Home interface with an Xbox Series-style dashboard, according to windowscentral.com. The project is published on GitHub.

The dashboard is split into tabs labelled My games & apps, Store, Community and System, which players move between with the LB and RB shoulder buttons. Hovering over a game and pressing Y brings up its compatibility, achievements and other details.

Installing it requires Decky Loader and the "Install plugin from ZIP" option, with Developer Mode enabled on the device.

The plugin's author states that Claude AI was used to help with the plugin's development.

Handheld dashboard debate

The release lands as Windows-based handhelds draw more scrutiny. Jez Corden recently re-reviewed the Xbox Ally and Ally X and said Windows 11 still needed work for handhelds. The author of the windowscentral.com article also noted buying a Steam Deck for his sister last Christmas and a recent price hike.
