Xbox Free Play Days Adds Five Horror Games for Halloween

Microsoft has announced a Halloween-themed Xbox Free Play Days lineup of five games, with WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers, Dead by Daylight, Darkwood and Everspace 2 free to play for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, Premium and Essential members from October 29, 2026 to November 1, 2026, according to Windows Central.

Dead by Daylight has the widest window in the promotion: it is free to play for all Xbox players, with or without a Game Pass plan, from October 28, 2026 to November 2, 2026.

Spirittea, the cozy bathhouse simulator, also joins the lineup. Spirittea and Everspace 2 are playable on both console and PC during the promotion.

Horror-heavy selection

The lineup leans on horror for the Halloween period, pairing the asymmetrical multiplayer of Dead by Daylight with the top-down indie horror of Darkwood and the action-RPG combat of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers.

Dead by Daylight has been running since its 2016 release and still draws tens of thousands of players. Over the years it has added playable characters drawn from franchises including Diablo, Silent Hill, Resident Evil, Stranger Things, Friday the 13th, Alien, Alan Wake and Nightmare on Elm Street.

Windows Central's review of WUCHANG: Fallen Feathers praised its combat, level design and visuals, while criticising difficulty and story issues tied to censorship.
