Drecom posts 659 million yen operating profit, lifts full-year forecast to 1.3 billion yen

Drecom reported first-half results for the fiscal year ending March 2027 on October 29, posting an operating profit of 659 million yen, compared with a loss of 574 million yen in the same period a year earlier, according to gamebiz.jp. Net sales came in at 8,328 million yen, up 1.1% year on year, with ordinary profit of 595 million yen and net profit of 502 million yen.

The company raised its full-year operating profit forecast for the fiscal year ending March 2027 from 1 billion yen to 1.3 billion yen, while cutting its net sales guidance from 18 billion yen to 17.5 billion yen. The dividend forecast was left unchanged at 5 yen per share.

Game business carries the results

The game business segment posted first-half sales of 7,890 million yen, down 0.6% year on year, and segment profit of 1,159 million yen. Sales of Wizardry Variants Daphne rose 12.9% year on year during the half, and the title passed 4 million cumulative downloads worldwide in August. A second-anniversary campaign began on October 15.

Preliminary sales for October 1–28 were 1.5 billion yen, up 16% from 1.29 billion yen a year earlier, and the company said it expects record monthly sales.

The contents segment recorded first-half sales of 438 million yen, up 35.4%, and a segment loss of 500 million yen. DRECOM CREATORS STUDIO announced three published titles in the first half and has five titles in development.

At the end of the previous fiscal year, Drecom sold two game subsidiaries; titles run by those subsidiaries had about 660 million yen in sales in the prior-year first half. In the fiscal year ended March 2026, Wizardry-related sales were about 4.8 billion yen, and the company has said it plans to spend around 10 billion yen on advertising and other items over the next five years.
