Dungeon Antiqua ZERO in development for PC, due autumn 2027

Developer frenchbread says the 2D dungeon-crawler is a prequel, with players recruiting characters across the world instead of building a party at the start.

Developer frenchbread announced on November 3, 2026 that Dungeon Antiqua ZERO, a new 2D dungeon-crawling RPG in the Dungeon Antiqua series, is in development, according to gamespark.jp.

The game is set before the first title in the series' timeline. Rather than creating party members at the start, players recruit characters scattered across the world.

Dungeon Antiqua ZERO is planned for release on PC in autumn 2027. A console version is currently undecided.

Earlier entries in the series took inspiration from older role-playing games: the first Dungeon Antiqua drew on the Famicom versions of Final Fantasy and Wizardry, while the second looked to the Super Famicom versions of Final Fantasy V and Romancing SaGa. Console versions of the Dungeon Antiqua series have been released by Amata Games.
