Estimates: 9.8 million Elden Ring players have logged 100+ hours

Alinea Analytics also estimates about 3.5 million players have unlocked every achievement, roughly a quarter of the game's estimated sales.

About 9.8 million people are estimated to have played ELDEN RING for 100 hours or more, according to figures published on 22 October by Rhys Elliott, head of market analysis at Alinea Analytics. The same estimate puts cumulative sales of the game across Steam, PlayStation and Xbox at about 36.4 million copies, meaning the long-players account for roughly 27 percent of the total.

Alinea Analytics' data also estimates that about 3.5 million players have unlocked every achievement and trophy in ELDEN RING. On Steam, the game carries 42 achievements in total.

The estimates suggest the game remains active on older hardware: about 1.5 million people were still playing ELDEN RING on PS4 and PS5 in September, according to the same figures. Between the start of this year and 22 October, the estimate puts sales at about 2 million copies and revenue at about 110 million dollars.

The full estimated revenue across Steam, PlayStation and Xbox stands at about 2 billion dollars. These are Alinea Analytics' own estimates, not official figures from FromSoftware or Bandai Namco Entertainment, and were reported by Automaton Media.

Completion rates vary sharply by boss and ending

Steam's public achievement data, which covers only the PC version, shows a much steeper drop-off at the game's hardest encounters. About 75 percent of players reached Roundtable Hold and about 71 percent defeated Margit, the Fell Omen, while the rate falls to about 36 percent for Malenia, Blade of Miquella and about 30 percent for Dragonlord Placidusax. Ending achievements sit at about 28 percent for Age of the Stars, 24 percent for Elden Lord and 16 percent for Lord of Frenzied Flame.

ELDEN RING was originally released on 25 February 2022 for PC via Steam, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One. ELDEN RING Tarnished Edition came to Nintendo Switch 2 on 28 August 2026, and a live-action film from A24, written and directed by Alex Garland, is planned for a global theatrical release on 3 March 2028.
