Bethesda Names The Elder Scrolls 6 'Sentinel', Sets Hammerfell
Todd Howard declined to confirm whether the game will be an Xbox exclusive, saying it is too early to comment.
Bethesda has announced that its next role-playing game will be titled The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel and will take place in Hammerfell, the home of the Redguards. The studio revealed the subtitle and the setting on November 3.
The game is being developed on Creation Engine 3, according to Bethesda. The studio said additional details about the project remain some time away.
Asked by Windows Central whether The Elder Scrolls 6: Sentinel will be exclusive to Xbox, Bethesda head Todd Howard said it was "too early to comment". Microsoft acquired Bethesda in 2021, a deal that first raised the question of Xbox exclusivity for the studio's games.
The title was originally announced in 2018, and players have waited more than eight years for a substantial update. Bethesda is also working on other projects in the Fallout series, including remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas, while Fallout 5 remains in pre-production.
The studio's previous releases set a high commercial bar: Skyrim has sold more than 65 million copies and Fallout 4 has surpassed 35 million.
