The Fertile Crescent 2 leaves early access with 1.0 release
MicroProse's Bronze Age RTS adds the final story chapters, a map editor, dedicated-server multiplayer and bot support.
The Fertile Crescent 2: Collapse of the Bronze Age left early access with its 1.0 release on 6 November 2026, publisher MicroProse announced. The strategy game is developed by Wield Interactive.
The 1.0 version adds the final chapters of the singleplayer story, which spans 17 missions across four playable factions: the Assyrians, Egyptians, Babylonians and Hittites. It also ships with a map editor of the kind the developers used to design the campaign.
Alongside the story, the release includes standalone scenario missions, a skirmish mode and multiplayer on dedicated servers with bot support.
The game is inspired by Age of Empires. Rock Paper Shotgun covered the 1.0 launch.
When the original The Fertile Crescent was reviewed for RPS by former RPS writer Nate Crowley, he described it as a bite-sized chunk of phenomenal RTS design that riffed on Age of Empires while rewriting its ground rules.
