Square Enix is making the Platinum trophy in Final Fantasy 7 Revelation significantly easier to earn than the one in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, according to director Naoki Hamaguchi. In an interview with Eurogamer, Hamaguchi explained that the team underestimated how many players would pursue the Platinum in Rebirth and now aims to lower the barrier.
Only about 2.6% of players unlocked Rebirth's Platinum trophy. Hamaguchi said that difficulty was intentional, as the team wanted players to experience all the game's content, but he expressed regret over the fan reaction. Battle director Teruki Endo shared those regrets after seeing how players responded.
