Square Enix reveals transformed Midgar for Final Fantasy VII Revelation

Director Naoki Hamaguchi confirmed new features and explorable Midgar depths at Paris Games Week, though no new footage was shown.

Square Enix and director Naoki Hamaguchi presented new features and gameplay for Final Fantasy VII Revelation at Paris Games Week, confirming that Cloud and his companions return to a transformed Midgar, according to wccftech.com.

Players will be able to explore the city's depths through the Midgar Fissure, an area the presentation named as part of the returning location.

The piano minigame also returns with new mechanics that allow more instruments to be played, alongside additional narration exploring Tifa's backstory.

Hamaguchi said he expects Final Fantasy VII Revelation to be bigger and vaster than Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. No new footage was shown at the event, but the director confirmed that a video showcasing the new features will be released soon.
