Playground Games clarifies Forza Horizon 6 ban criteria, then deletes post
The studio said fewer than 700 users were affected by moderation action and about 50 accounts were permanently banned for full nudity.
Playground Games posted a statement on October 30, 2026, via Forza Horizon 6's official China-facing social media account, explaining how it moderates 'itasha'-style anime designs, according to automaton-media.com. The post was apparently deleted the same day after further criticism.
The statement said users created more than 12.5 million pieces of user-generated content in the past month and filed about 21,900 reports, roughly 0.1% of that volume. Only about 3% of reports led to action, affecting fewer than 700 users, and about 7% of punished accounts — around 50 — were permanently banned for designs containing full nudity.
Playground Games said designs must meet all-ages standards regardless of region, citing ratings including CERO B in Japan, PEGI 3 in Europe, USK 6 in Germany and E for Everyone in North America. It listed 'glazed/drunken eyes', 'slightly parted lips' and 'sexually suggestive clothing' as examples of inappropriate expression, while saying revealing outfits such as a bikini at the beach are usually acceptable when contextually consistent.
The statement also said no AI is used to review designs, and that penalties escalate from warnings to suspensions, with explicit sexual or extreme content leading to immediate suspension. Users questioned why the statement was addressed only to the Chinese community.
Earlier moderation context
Reports had surfaced at home and abroad that users creating itasha designs were being banned, with some saying they were banned over unpublished designs. On September 24, Turn 10 Studios updated the Forza Code of Conduct, saying reported content is carefully checked by human moderators and that report counts do not affect handling priority.
Forza Horizon 6 is available on PC via Steam and the Microsoft Store and on Xbox Series X|S, and via Xbox/PC Game Pass, with a PS5 release planned for January 2027.
