GameDataCore Launches Steam Review Analysis Platform

GameDataCore's new tool classifies Steam reviews by topic, emotion, tone and motivation, and weights them by reviewer profile signals.

GameDataCore has launched a platform that analyses Steam reviews to show developers what players really feel and what they should address next, according to gamesindustry.biz. The launch is timed to coincide with Steam Next Fest, which runs October 19 to 26.

The platform breaks each review into snippets classified across topic, emotion, tone and motivation, then weights them by reviewer profile signals such as library, playtime and other games played. It also accounts for silent players who played a game but never left a review.

Developers receive a weighted list of potential issues to address, along with reporter profiles and supporting reviews. Results can be shared via Slack or Discord.

GameDataCore says the interpretation is handled by LLM models based in Europe rather than US-based frontier models, and that no customer data will be sent to a third-party model provider.
