Hot Wax melts onto Steam after Itch.io exclusivity
PUNKCAKE Délicieux's candle-melting arcade puzzler arrives on Steam on October 29, 2026, with a demo already available.
Hot Wax, the arcade puzzler from developer PUNKCAKE Délicieux, launches on Steam on October 29, 2026, the day after the release was reported by rockpapershotgun.com. The game had previously been available exclusively on Itch.io.
In Hot Wax, the falling blocks are candles. Rather than clearing lines, players drop flames onto wicks to melt the candles away. Flames can also be sacrificed to an eldritch god in exchange for power-ups, including bombs and acorns.
The full Steam release adds modes such as score attack, endless play and a one-flame mode, along with planned daily seeded challenge runs. A demo is already available on Steam for players who want to try the melting mechanic before the launch.
The game drew attention after quasiotter, a regular in the Rock Paper Shotgun community, recommended it, according to rockpapershotgun.com.
