KADOKAWA to release Lost Property Bureau board game on February 18, 2027

The 1-4 player title, designed by the creator behind Paper Tales, is priced at 4510 yen including tax and draws on an art book of fictional game scenes.

KADOKAWA has announced that its board game adaptation of the art book series about a fictional lost-property authority will go on sale on February 18, 2027, according to news.denfaminicogamer.jp. The game is priced at 4510 yen including tax and supports 1 to 4 players.

The board game is set in the world of the art book, which collects fictional game scenes drawn by the illustrator behind the project. Newly drawn illustrations for the game were revealed together with the announcement.

Game design is handled by the designer of Paper Tales and other board game titles. In play, participants aim to defeat a boss on the deepest level of a randomly generated dungeon, strengthening their characters with experience and equipment gained from battles with lost objects and from exploration.

KADOKAWA's official online store KADOST will also sell acrylic stands featuring the new illustrations in four versions, one for each of the characters shown. The stands can be displayed as they are or used as pieces in the game, and orders are being accepted until November 18.

From social media illustrations to a tabletop game

The illustrator behind the original work gained popularity by posting illustrations of the fictional game on social media, and that artwork became the basis for the art book now being turned into a board game.
