Manor Lords update 0.8.117 adds dung, seasonal crops and Fishmonger
The live-branch patch lets players assign families to collect dung for fertilizer and introduces winter and spring crop variants with a 12-month field calendar.
Manor Lords update 0.8.117 is available now on the game's live branch, adding dung collection, fertilization and seasonal crops to farming, according to PCGamesN. The patch also brings a new Fishmonger artisan and six perks under the Rural Foundations tree.
Players can assign families to the Dung Collector role, who gather dung and deposit it in a new building called the Dunghill. Dung is converted into Fertilizer, which Farmhouse workers can apply to boost the maximum fertility of fallow fields and production for just over two years.
Crops now come in winter and spring variants. Wheat and Rye prefer winter but can be sown in spring for a quicker, smaller return, while Flax, Barley and Oats can only be sown in spring. A new 12-month field calendar shows upcoming field-related activities, and unplanted fields with selected crops are treated as fallow, gradually regenerating fertility. Unharvested crops past October now slowly die off instead of force-rotating.
The Fishmonger artisan produces Smoked Fish from Fish and Salt. Six new Rural Foundations perks, unlockable at settlement level three, are also added: Experienced Forestry, Woodland Beekeeping, Fish Husbandry, Livestock Provisioning, Practical Tillage and Pastoral Practice. Born of the Alps now increases sheep wool production at high elevation instead of protecting sheep from it.
The update reduces crop growth speed and the rate at which fallow fields regenerate fertility. Cows and sheep are easier to breed, the Deep Mine is less efficient, and warbows and crossbows are stronger.
Beta testing
Many of the update's features were tested on the beta branch in recent months. A few months ago, pasture animals also received an update.
