McDonald's Pokémon Happy Meal Toys and Cards Reportedly Leak

Images of an unannounced McDonald's Pokémon Happy Meal promotion have surfaced online, showing exclusive toys and trading cards ahead of an expected launch. The images were shared by trading card site PokéBeach, according to Polygon.

The toys are designed to look like miniature Happy Meals and can also hold the trading cards that come in the meal. The lineup includes Eevee, Pikachu, Espeon, Rowlett, Weedle, Bulbasaur, Piplup, Sobble, Chikorita, Sprigatito, Squirtle, Espurr, Charmander, Minccino and Munchlax.

Each Happy Meal is expected to include two random Pokémon trading cards. PokéBeach reports that Metagross, Palafin and Hawlucha are part of the wider card list.

The projected US promotion dates are November 10 to December 14. McDonald's has not announced the promotion.

A break from recent Happy Meals

McDonald's and Pokémon have partnered on a nearly yearly basis since 2011, often with Happy Meal boxes containing a small selection of trading card reprints. The last time McDonald's Pokémon Happy Meals included an actual toy was in 2018.

Past promotions have drawn heavy demand: in Japan, chaos around an earlier Pokémon collaboration ended with stores calling the police on their own customers, and some McDonald's locations have introduced purchasing limits or policies allowing toy purchases without a Happy Meal.
