Pokemon GO has released a 15-second teaser trailer that hints at the return of Eternatus during the game's ongoing Twilight Trails season, according to gamerant.com. The clip shows a giant creature resembling Eternamax Eternatus looming above a Power Spot.
Twilight Trails is the current in-game season and runs until December 1, giving the teaser a firm window in which any return would land.
The trailer also shows Trainers camping alongside the Gen 8 starter Pokemon, a detail some fans have read as a nod to the Wild Area 2026 event.
Earlier leaks reported that Eternatus will appear in Wild Area 2026, which could point to a return on November 6 for the in-person events or on November 14-15 for the Global edition. Niantic has not confirmed any of those dates.
Previous appearance
Eternatus first debuted in Pokemon GO during the Max Finale weekend in August 2025, when players could catch one copy via the GO Pass and battle Eternamax Eternatus in Max Battles. After that event, Pokemon GO said Eternatus would return in the future, but the Pokemon has been absent for more than a year. Some fans were unhappy with the 2025 event, arguing it was not player-friendly enough.
