Milo, a WWII horde shooter, launches in Steam early access

Yarrawah Interactive and rat cream games released the co-op shooter at 2,800 yen, with a 10% discount running until November 6.

Yarrawah Interactive and rat cream games released Milo, a World War II-themed horde shooter, in early access on Steam on October 29, according to gamespark.jp. The game is priced at 2,800 yen, with a 10% discount available until November 6.

Milo supports solo play and co-op for 1-4 players, either online or over a LAN. Players fight a cult's forces, and killing enemies feeds a rat swarm that fills a gauge for a corpse-exploding ability.

The early access build includes more than 12 WWII weapons, among them the Kar98, M1 Garand, PPSh-41 and M1911. Only the Survivor class is playable at launch.

Tickets earned in minigames such as basketball can be spent on upgrades at an in-game arcade called Traang. The game runs on Unreal Engine 5 and features dismemberment, blood effects and procedural IK animation.

Two-year roadmap planned

The developers plan an early access period of about two years, adding maps, weapons, enemies, wave rules, classes, arcade content, rat customization, deeper progression, accessibility options, localization and visual and performance improvements.
