Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 director doubts perfect matchmaking is achievable

Joe Cecot, multiplayer creative director on Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4, said in an interview with IGN that he does not know whether the game's matchmaking system can be perfected. The comments were reported by Kotaku.

Cecot said the team does not discuss matchmaking specifics, but that the end goal is for every match to be a good match.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 4 shipped with skill-based matchmaking only, even though alternative options were available during the beta.

The game was released one day before the article. Skill-based matchmaking has existed in some form in the series since the first Modern Warfare in 2007.
