Magic: The Gathering Star Trek Set Adds First Hand-Signed Headliner Cards

Wizards of the Coast confirmed the November 13 Star Trek set includes hand-signed cards, with around 250 copies per character in Collector Boosters only.

Wizards of the Coast has confirmed that the upcoming Magic: The Gathering Star Trek set, due out on November 13, will include the game's first headliner cards signed by hand. The set is a Universes Beyond release built around the Star Trek franchise.

The signed cards feature handwritten signatures from actors who played prominent Star Trek characters. Seven characters are represented: Kirk, Spock, Picard, Janeway, Seven of Nine, Geordi and Data. Around 250 signed copies are being released for each of the seven, according to gamerant.com.

The cards are only available in Collector Booster Packs and will not appear in Play Boosters. Unlike normal headliners, which are typically serialized from 1 to 500, the signed cards are not serialized.

The set also includes a new Red card that reprints Negate with an added effect.

What else Wizards has lined up

Wizards of the Coast is gradually revealing its roadmap for Magic: The Gathering in 2027. Three new in-multiverse sets are confirmed for that year: one set on a fully underwater plane, one mixing Kamigawa and Ikoria in a battle between mechs and monsters, and one returning to Zhalfir. A Universes Beyond set called Darkhold Destiny, an original take on the Marvel universe, is also coming in 2027. Magic: The Gathering will get six new sets in 2027, compared to seven in 2026.
