Moon Studios Unveils No Rest for the Wicked 1.0 Class Overhaul

Moon Studios aired a Wicked Inside showcase outlining sweeping system changes coming to No Rest for the Wicked with its 1.0 release, which is due in March 2027 on PC and PlayStation 5, according to wccftech.com.

The most significant change is the removal of attributes entirely. In their place, 1.0 introduces a class system tied to the equipped weapon, with 24 classes and over 280 traits in total. Fighting with a class weapon earns Insight, which unlocks that class's traits and runes. Players have six trait slots — two offensive, two defensive, one utility, and one ascension — that can be filled with traits from any class, allowing hybrid builds. The showcase demonstrated an Assassin using the Dragoon's lightning, a dual-blade Rogue/Archer/Stormbringer build, and a Crusader/Barbarian/Berserker heavy build.

Every class belongs to one of six factions, each with its own questline that unlocks new areas, traits, and vendors. The Assassin and Rogue, for example, belong to the Severed Hand, Sacrament's criminal underworld.

Serum Cores Replace Raw Stats

Raw stats such as health, stamina, and focus now come from Serum Cores, which are unlocked with level-up points at any Whisper and slotted into the character. Cores include Feral (attack speed), Crimson (life steal), Fortune (item drops), and Awakened (removes stat caps). Each core has a capacity cost, and exceeding the limit adds 10% more damage taken per point over. Cores can be swapped at any Whisper for free.

Beyond systems, 1.0 roughly doubles the game's existing content, adding new zones, an expanded Sacrament, more secrets across Isola Sacra, two new enemy factions, and a new roster of bosses.
