Rust Premium becomes monthly subscription, no Battle Pass
Facepunch's Printed and Polished patch notes say the reworked Rust Premium adds exclusive skins and quality-of-life perks, with no leveling or challenges.
Facepunch has confirmed that Rust Premium will be overhauled into a paid monthly subscription service with exclusive perks, according to the game's Printed and Polished patch notes, as reported by Polygon.
The perks listed for the reworked Premium include high-quality skins for clothing, deployables and collectibles, along with non-gameplay features. Facepunch describes the new Rust Premium as having no leveling, quests, challenges or Battle Pass-style progression.
The studio advertises the reworked Rust Premium as coming soon but has not given a date for when the subscription will go live.
The November update is mainly focused on optimization, with the subscription change detailed in its patch notes.
From roadmap Battle Pass to Premium
At the beginning of 2026, Facepunch shared a roadmap for Rust that included a Battle Pass system planned for the final quarter of the year. In August 2026, the revised roadmap replaced the Battle Pass with Rust Premium. Previously, Premium status required having at least $15 worth of Rust items in a Steam inventory.
