Mass Effect fans put #SaveMassEffect billboard in Times Square

The We Are Mass Effect group and creator Kala Elizabeth placed the ad on 26 October 2026, and plan more ads near EA offices, for N7 Day and at The Game Awards.

The We Are Mass Effect community group and content creator Kala Elizabeth put up a #SaveMassEffect billboard in New York City's Times Square on 26 October 2026, according to Eurogamer. The ad stands at 1560 Broadway, above the Pelé store.

The billboard carries the text "Kellah Si'yah" and promotes the SaveMassEffect hashtag. Organiser Maria Mora said the campaign will continue with an advertising truck near EA's Redwood City and Edmonton offices, a mobile billboard for N7 Day and another in Los Angeles for The Game Awards.

Mora said the initiatives will be community-funded through an upcoming GoFundMe, with any surplus funds going to the Game Workers' Hardship Fund run by the UVW-CWA union.

The SaveMassEffect petition has reached 226,000 signatures. It asks EA to fund a new Mass Effect game or license the series to an outside studio.

Background

In mid-October 2026, EA shut down BioWare and cancelled the next Mass Effect game. Earlier this year, the United Videogame Workers union (UVW-CWA) opened the Game Workers' Hardship Fund to support laid-off game workers in Canada and the USA.
