Shenmue 3: Enhanced Edition delayed to early 2027

Publisher Inin Games says the visual overhaul of the 2019 title is still being finalised and will now miss its Q4 2026 window.

Shenmue 3: Enhanced Edition has been pushed back from Q4 this year to early 2027, publisher Inin Games has announced, according to Eurogamer.

Inin Games said development is taking longer than planned in order to get everything right, and that the final details are still being finalised.

The Enhanced Edition is set to launch on PC, PS5, Switch 2 and Xbox Series X/S. It promises visual improvements, quality-of-life changes and performance boosts over the original 2019 release, along with DLSS and FSR support, a higher density of NPCs in Niaowu, and a classic camera mode inspired by Shenmue and Shenmue 2.

Shenmue 3 was released by developer Ys Net in 2019. The Enhanced Edition was first revealed in August 2025.
