Silent Hill: Townfall patch 1.6.0 adds Hard mode and rebalances difficulty

Konami's update also adds a Nightmare warning screen, map player position and DLSS Ray Reconstruction on PC.

Konami has released patch 1.6.0 for Silent Hill: Townfall, adding a new Hard difficulty mode and rebalancing gameplay across every difficulty setting, according to Eurogamer. The update went live on PS5, Steam and the Epic Games Store earlier this week.

The rebalance is intended to produce a smoother difficulty curve. Enemy hearing sensitivity now varies by difficulty and rises as the difficulty level goes up. The reduction to the attack severity of The Weight is now limited to Story Mode only, and a Nightmare difficulty warning screen appears if a first playthrough is set to Nightmare.

The patch also makes the player's position visible on the map in all difficulty modes, improves valve status lighting for colourblind players, and adds more hints and tutorials. PC players get a new DLSS Ray Reconstruction option.

Version numbers are v1.6.155963 on PC and v1.6.156035 on PS5.

Silent Hill: Townfall launched on PS5 and PC on 24 September. Eurogamer's review awarded it four out of five stars.
