Stage Tour Drum Kit Pre-Orders Slip to Late December on Demand

RedOctane Games said Stage Tour hardware pre-orders will begin shipping between December 1 and December 10, but new orders for drum kits and drum-containing band bundles have been pushed back. According to gamerant.com, the studio said the initial shipping allocation for those products is exhausted, so new orders are now expected to ship between December 11 and December 31.

Game-only and guitar bundles remain available within the original December 1 to December 10 window. RedOctane said orders placed before the change keep their assigned shipping estimates.

The studio said there are no manufacturing issues behind the adjustment and attributed it to unexpectedly strong demand. Shipping dates indicate when an order leaves the warehouse; delivery then takes another two to 10 business days depending on location.

Stage Tour is scheduled to release on December 10. The game supports more than 50 guitar models and 20 drum kits on PC, plus gamepad and keyboard modes, and launches with more than 90 licensed songs. RedOctane has said it plans four major content expansions per year, with more music announcements set for November 4.

RedOctane also confirmed that Stage Tour's new drum kits will not be compatible with the Nintendo Switch 2 at launch.

Background

Guitar Hero and Rock Band brought full-band rhythm gaming into the mainstream nearly two decades ago, before the genre faded during the 2010s. Community projects such as Clone Hero and YARG kept the scene active after the original instrument manufacturers moved on.
