Starship Simulator Brings Deep-Space Sandbox to Steam
Fleetyard Studios' Unreal Engine 5 title lets players command a Magellan-class vessel with unrestricted deck access and manage over 200 crewmates.
Starship Simulator, a deep-space exploration sandbox from developer Fleetyard Studios, now has a Steam listing, and a free demo is available to play, according to Screen Rant. The store page describes the game as set in a scientifically accurate Milky Way galaxy.
Players take command of a Magellan-class deep space exploration vessel with unrestricted access to every deck. The simulation includes managing more than 200 crewmates across eight roles: captain, pilot, science officer, tactical officer, engineer, doctor, morale officer and passenger.
The game also features procedurally generated alien races with their own societies, and it is built in Unreal Engine 5. The Steam listing does not include a release date.
The premise places Starship Simulator alongside established science-fiction settings such as Star Trek: The Next Generation and Stargate, though the game's procedural species and ship management systems are its own. The free demo offers an early look at the sandbox ahead of any full launch.
