T1 to host 256-player Riftbound T1 Trials in November
T1 says the two-day tournament is the largest single Riftbound event held in Korea, with a prize pool worth about 5 million won.
T1 Entertainment & Sports will host T1 Trials, a 256-player Riftbound tournament, on November 1 and November 8, the organization announced. T1 says the event is the largest single Riftbound tournament ever held in Korea.
The November 1 qualifier takes place at Hall 6C of KINTEX Exhibition Center 2 in Ilsan, with all 256 players running eight rounds of best-of-three Swiss play. The top 16 then move to a best-of-three tournament at T1 Basecamp Gangnam on November 8 to decide the winner.
The total prize pool is worth about 5 million won and is distributed among the top 64 players by rank. The winner receives T1 official signature boxes, one carton of Jumbo packs and one carton of Slim packs, worth about 1.3 million won. A lucky draw for all on-site participants is held on the first day.
Seed spots went first to the top 16 of Nexus Night, held at T1 Basecamp Gangnam on October 19, according to inven.co.kr. Up to 10 domestic and international players and influencers will be specially invited, and the remaining places are filled by a lottery among general applicants who sign up via a Google Form.
T1 says the event is part of its plan to expand the Riftbound ecosystem by connecting offline spaces, professional coaching and tournament operations. T1 Basecamp Gangnam recently finished a beginner class for the game, and T1 Esports Academy is working to open a regular Riftbound curriculum.
Application details, rules and the custom ban list are announced on T1's official Instagram channel.
