Ubisoft Renames Creative House 2 as Massive Entertainment

Ubisoft's Creative House 2 becomes Massive Entertainment, uniting teams in Montreal, Paris, Sweden, and Toronto under Christoph Hartmann.

Ubisoft has renamed its Creative House 2 business unit to Massive Entertainment. The new entity brings together development teams in Montreal, Paris, Sweden, and Toronto.

Massive Entertainment will oversee a portfolio that includes Tom Clancy's The Division, Ghost Recon, Splinter Cell, March of Giants, and new original IP. Christoph Hartmann leads the unit as General Manager.

The move follows Ubisoft's shift to a Creative Houses structure, announced in late 2025 and detailed in January 2026. Previously, Massive Entertainment was a standalone studio in Malmo, Sweden, founded in 1997 and acquired by Ubisoft in 2008.

In June, Hartmann joined as General Manager after leaving Amazon Game Studios. Last week, Ubisoft announced Natalie Francis would join as studio manager of the Malmo office. In January, Ubisoft laid off staff at Massive and Ubisoft Stockholm.
