Virtue and a Sledgehammer Launches October 28

Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour's exploration adventure sends players into a forest town of digitized residents, with a 10 kg hammer in hand.

Deconstructeam and Selkie Harbour released the exploration adventure game Virtue and a Sledgehammer on October 28, 2026, according to 4gamer.net. The title is available now, with an interface and subtitles that support Japanese.

Players explore a hometown set in a deep forest, where the former residents have been digitized and now live as human-like androids. The protagonist carries a hammer weighing about 10 kg, used to smash walls and buildings and open new routes through the town.

Not every android encountered is passive: the game includes combat against androids that block the way. Between exploration sequences, interactive cinematic scenes reveal the protagonist's complicated family relationships, childhood memories and emotional wounds.

The presentation is built on low-polygon graphics and a comic-style look, backed by a soundtrack that combines electronic music with choir-like vocals.

Deconstructeam, based in Valencia, Spain, has been making story-focused games for nearly 15 years and developed the title with the Valencia-based studio Selkie Harbour. In October 2025 the studios' use of Unreal Engine 5's physics system for the game's destruction was part of the project's public description.
