Webzen has announced the name and brand identity of MU Theos, a new MMORPG built on its MU IP, targeting release in the first half of 2027, according to inven.co.kr. The company said it will move to full service preparation once the game's level of completion has been raised further.
MU Theos keeps the features associated with the MU IP, including fast character growth and the enjoyment of progression. Development is focused on growth content, competitive structures and what Webzen describes as a reasonable business model. An internal test (IBT) was held recently.
A cinematic teaser video for MU Theos will be shown for the first time at the Webzen booth at G-STAR 2026. The company also plans to exhibit I Became the Tyrant: LAST STAGE, a command-strategy defense RPG, at the event.
Webzen said it aims to diversify its lineup of new titles built on core IP through MU Theos and Project G. The company first showed Project G, a hack-and-slash action RPG in development, with a teaser video in 2025.
