Blizzard: World of Warcraft: Forever Classes Won't Be Modernized
Blizzard confirmed classes in World of Warcraft: Forever won't be modernized, though some will gain new mechanics as the game launches on November 4.
Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that classes in World of Warcraft: Forever will not be modernized, according to techradar.com. The studio said it plans to add more "engaging depth" to certain classes that were "too simple" during the Classic era, without overhauling the class system as a whole.
The expansion is built on four design pillars: Nurture and Protect Social Experiences, Approachable and Familiar, World as the Main Character, and Journey before destination. Blizzard also stated there are no plans to go past Dual Specialization for World of Warcraft: Forever.
Balance cadence and launch
Class changes will arrive in batches rather than trickling in individually. Blizzard expects frequent balance updates during the first six months, initially at a rate of once per week.
World of Warcraft: Forever launches on November 4. The game has undergone many class and balance changes over the years in both retail and Classic. The first re-spec every hour is temporarily cheap in the beta.
