World of Warcraft: Forever launches November 4 at 6 p.m. EST

The new game based on the 2004 World of Warcraft launches worldwide on November 4, 2026, and is included with a subscription.

World of Warcraft: Forever launches globally on Wednesday, November 4 at 6 p.m. EST, Blizzard Entertainment has announced. The game is included with a World of Warcraft subscription, according to Polygon.

Forever is based on the original 2004 World of Warcraft, with new content added on top. Blizzard has rebalanced classes, added graphical enhancements and brought in a set of modernizations. The game keeps the original nine classes and eight races split between the Horde and Alliance.

Players who want the Skyborne, a race of blue-skinned high elves from a sky island who can join either faction, will have to buy them and their starting zone separately.

The level cap is fixed at 60, and Blizzard has promised not to raise it. Forever also adds new zones, dungeons, raids and quests, alongside a modernized UI, gamepad support and "Megaserver" infrastructure.

A social "Camping" system grants buffs to players who play together.

What Forever adds on top of the original

Blizzard's stated aim is to keep the original game's structure in place while adding content around it, with the fixed level cap and the new zones and dungeons sitting alongside the 2004 races and classes.
