World of Warcraft: Forever Launches as Permanent Rebuilt Version

The relaunch of the original 2004 world adds the Skyborne race, new race-class combos and more than 1,000 quests for the level 1 to 60 climb.

World of Warcraft: Forever launched on November 5 as a permanent new version of the game, separate from World of Warcraft and World of Warcraft Classic, according to 4gamer.net. The release rebuilds the original 2004 world and adds new storylines and content, with players leveling to level 60.

The setting runs from the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom to the original World of Warcraft raid Molten Core. At the start, players can choose graphics and an interface close to the original version or settings built around modern controls.

A Ruleset system replaces server selection, letting players pick environments such as a normal adventure, PvP or roleplay. New areas appear across the two continents of the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, including Highjarl Mountain, Riverglade and Zephras Island, and more than 1,000 new quests have been added for the level 1 to 60 journey.

The new race Skyborne, tied to the elements of wind and sky, is available by purchasing the upgrade pack. New race-class combinations such as orc mage and undead paladin can also be selected. A camp system lets players talk with companions around a campfire to gain benefits.

Raids open in December

Three raids open on December 9, with dungeons, PvP content and new quests to be added continuously afterward. The game is playable with a regular World of Warcraft subscription or game time, and an upgrade pack with various perks is on sale.
