Blizzard Plans to Bring World of Warcraft: Forever's Lighting and Water to Retail

A Blizzard representative said the upgraded visuals are planned for the Retail game, but the timing has not been decided.

Blizzard plans to bring the improved water and lighting developed for World of Warcraft: Forever to the Retail version of World of Warcraft, though no date has been set. A Blizzard representative discussed the plans in an interview with IGN.

According to the representative, the timing for moving Forever's lighting and water changes into Retail has not been decided.

The graphical overhaul in Forever required adjusting the lighting and color palette of each zone individually, rather than applying a single global change.

Classic first, Retail later

The lighting changes were made in the Classic-based game first, and are planned to be partly replicated in Retail, per the IGN interview.
