Carol Morley's '7 Miles Out' to World Premiere at London Film Festival
Lucy Halliday stars as Ann in the adaptation of Morley's semi-autobiographical novel, which debuts Saturday in the festival's official competition.
Carol Morley's film 7 Miles Out, starring Lucy Halliday as Ann, will have its world premiere in the official competition of the London Film Festival on Saturday, according to The Hollywood Reporter.
Morley adapted the film from her own semi-autobiographical novel. Aidan Gillen plays Ann's father and Gemma Whelan plays her mother. Agnès Godard served as cinematographer and Raluca Petre as editor.
The film's soundtrack includes Joy Division, New Order and The Raincoats. Its original songs were written by Morley and Carly Paradis, who also composed the score.
Morley wrote the novel 7 Miles Out while she was struggling to finance her film Dreams of a Life. During COVID, filmmaker Michael Winterbottom interviewed Morley and suggested she turn the book into a film. Morley previously adapted Martin Amis' Night Train into the film Out of Blue.
