Avatar: Seven Havens EPs Tie Korra's Choices to New World at NYCC 2026

At New York Comic Con 2026, executive producers Sehaj Sethi and Ethan Spaulding discussed Avatar: Seven Havens and teased the role Korra's decisions play in the new series, according to Polygon. Sethi said the series shows that each Avatar's actions, or inaction, affect the next Avatar.

Sethi added that the creators are not yet revealing exactly how Korra's choices impacted the new world. The series is set more than two centuries after the events of The Legend of Korra. In the new series' world, survivors remember Korra as the great destroyer responsible for the Cataclysm.

Background from earlier series shows how Avatar decisions carry forward. In The Legend of Korra Book 2, Korra kept the spirit portals open instead of closing them after defeating Unalaq. After the portals were opened, people worldwide awakened airbending and spirit vines spread through Republic City. By Book 4, Varrick discovered spirit vines could be harvested as an energy source, and Kuvira used them to power a city-destroying cannon.

Older examples include Avatar Wan, who closed the spirit portals and served as the bridge between humans and spirits for 10,000 years, and Roku, whose failure to stop Fire Lord Sozin enabled the Hundred Year War that Aang later ended.
