Batman #14 Preview: Verity Pennyworth Mocks Mr. Freeze
Verity Pennyworth, Alfred's grandniece and the new Wayne Family butler, questions Mr. Freeze's title in a preview for Batman #14.
A preview for Batman (Volume 4) #14, part of the crossover event "The Bad Seeds," shows Verity Pennyworth mocking Mr. Freeze while assisting Bruce Wayne over the Bat-Com, according to screenrant.com.
In the preview, Verity is shown in Pennyworth Manor communicating with Bruce Wayne as he explores Gotham's underground tunnels. During their exchange, she questions why Mr. Freeze would spend effort and money on a doctorate but still call himself "Mister."
Bruce asks Verity whether she inherited her sarcasm from Alfred or learned it at the Society of the Midnight Key.
Verity Pennyworth, Alfred Pennyworth's grandniece, has taken over as the Wayne Family butler and supports Batman's superhero activities. She was introduced only a few months ago in Matt Fraction's Batman run, as Alfred was killed by Bane in 2019 during Tom King's run on the flagship Batman title.
