Batman Returns Batmobile Leads November 23 Prop Auction

Julien's Auctions and Turner Classic Movies will offer the Batman Returns car, estimated at $5 million to $7 million, in Los Angeles and online.

Julien's Auctions and Turner Classic Movies announced on October 28, 2026 that they will hold "The Ultimate Batmobile Auction" on November 23, with bidding in Los Angeles and online through Julien's Auctions.

The lead lot is the Batmobile from director Tim Burton's 1992 film Batman Returns. The car measures approximately 19 feet and 8 inches long and was built by automotive builder Carl Casper using two Chevrolet Impala chassis, following designs by production designer Anton Furst and concept illustrator Julian Caldow. It retains its original glossy black paint and a radio-controlled flaming exhaust system, and is estimated at $5 million to $7 million.

The sale also includes Michael Keaton's Batman cowl from Batman Returns, estimated at $10,000 to $15,000, and Christian Bale's screen-worn cowl from The Dark Knight, estimated at $20,000 to $30,000.

Costumes, props and weapons across superhero films

Other lots span several franchises: Keaton's Batman chest emblem from the 1989 film, Jack Nicholson's unused Joker smiling facial appliance, Alicia Silverstone's Batgirl cowl from Batman & Robin, and Ben Affleck's Batarang from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.

The collection also features Christopher Reeve's flying costume from Superman IV, Wesley Snipes' Blade props, and a Power Stone Orb from Guardians of the Galaxy.

In 2013, George Barris' 1966 Batmobile sold for $4.6 million, the previous Batmobile auction record.
