BBC confirms Strike season 7, The Running Grave, for December 2026
Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger return for a five-episode adaptation of the seventh Cormoran Strike novel.
The BBC has confirmed that Strike will return for a seventh series, titled Strike: The Running Grave, in December 2026. The new run will consist of five episodes.
Tom Burke returns as private detective Cormoran Strike, with Holliday Grainger back as Robin Ellacott. The series adapts the seventh Cormoran Strike novel.
The plot follows Sir Colin and Sally Edensor as they enlist the detectives to gather evidence against the Universal Humanitarian Church, a cult they believe has indoctrinated their estranged son Will and siphoned off his trust fund.
The Cormoran Strike novels are written by J.K. Rowling, who first published them under the pen name Robert Galbraith, starting with The Cuckoo's Calling. Media investigations uncovered her true identity months after the first novel's publication. Eight novels in the series have been published to date, with a ninth in development.
Rowling is also part of the creative team behind HBO's upcoming adaptation of Harry Potter.
