Blue Planet III Sets US Debut on BBC America and AMC+ for January 23

The six-episode series, narrated by David Attenborough, aired first on BBC One and iPlayer on November 1 and heads to US screens in January 2027.

Blue Planet III will arrive in the US on BBC America and AMC+ on January 23, 2027, according to screenrant.com. The series, narrated by David Attenborough, debuted on BBC One and iPlayer on November 1.

The run consists of six episodes. The first five each focus on a different underwater habitat, while the final episode turns to conservation issues. Returning themes such as The Deep and Open Ocean sit alongside a new Tropical Seas episode.

Filming took four years, with locations including Northern Australia, Egypt and Bali.

The franchise dates back to 2001's The Blue Planet, which won multiple awards and is widely regarded as one of the strongest underwater series in television history. Its seven-episode sequel, Blue Planet II, drew the highest UK television viewing figures of 2017, and its focus on pollution's effect on marine life drove a surge of interest in fighting plastic pollution that became known as "The Blue Planet Effect".

The announcement that Attenborough would narrate Blue Planet III coincided with his 100th birthday.
