Robert Aramayo to play Elros as well as Elrond in Rings of Power season 3
Amazon's fantasy series brings Elrond's twin brother to the screen, with Robert Aramayo taking on both roles, according to Screen Rant.
Elros will appear on screen in the third season of The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power, and Robert Aramayo, who plays Elrond, will also play Elros, according to Screen Rant.
In Tolkien's legendarium, Elros is Elrond's twin brother. The two were born in the First Age of Middle-earth to Eärendil and Elwing.
The brothers took different paths. Elros chose mortality and became the first king of Númenor, ruling under the regnal name Tar-Minyatur for more than 400 years before his death. Elrond remained among the Elves.
Elros was previously shown only in a mural in Númenor alongside Elrond in season 1 of the series, which streams on Prime Video. A release date for season 3 has not been announced.
Elros in the wider legendarium
Elros is an ancestor of Aragorn in The Lord of the Rings. Númenor was the island kingdom given to him, and anti-Elf prejudice associated with Pharazôn forms part of the story's backdrop.
