Tyler Perry Studios has named Courtney Glaudé as the first filmmaker to join its newly launched Maxscene division. The announcement, reported by Deadline, marks a new phase for the studio's expansion into original film production.
Glaudé's first release through Maxscene will be Conditioned, a psychological thriller he wrote and directed. The film is teased for an early 2027 release date.
The move builds on Glaudé's existing relationship with Tyler Perry Studios. In 2024, he was tapped as Executive Creator of Scripted and Unscripted as part of a new overall deal with the company.
He currently helms three Perry-created series: Sistas, its spinoff Zatima, and the crime drama Ruthless. His feature directorial debut, The Reading, executive produced by Lee Daniels, premiered on BET+ in February 2023.
Glaudé's short film Old Gray Mare won Best Film, Best Director, and Best Script at the BronzeLens Awards and was nominated for Best Film at the Venice Film Festival.
