Cursed Child Tops $1.57M as Broadway Grosses Fall 11%

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child grossed more than $1.57 million for the week ending September 27, according to figures reported by comingsoon.net. The play ranked behind only Hamilton and The Lion King among Broadway's top earners for the week.

The total marked a sharp rise from the previous week, when the production grossed more than $906,000 — an increase of over $607,000 after Tom Felton returned to the show.

Overall Broadway business moved in the opposite direction. Total grosses fell 11% to over $24 million, and attendance dropped 11% to 209,194. Only three of the 26 productions on Broadway grossed more than they had the previous week.

Among the few gainers, School Girls; Or the African Mean Girls Play grossed over $322,000, a $34,290 increase after eight previews. Paranormal Activity took in $871,364, up $85,939.

Harry Potter and the Cursed Child first arrived on Broadway in 2018 following its premiere in London's West End. The production originally ran in a two-part format before being reworked into a single performance of about three and a half hours after the pandemic. In November 2025, Felton reprised his film role in the Broadway staging, and after a positive reception he extended his schedule through January 3, 2027.
