Joanna Hogg will preside over the jury of the ninth El Gouna Film Festival, the festival announced ahead of its Oct. 15-23 run. The British director, whose credits include 'The Souvenir' and 'The Eternal Daughter,' will also give a masterclass titled 'Life Into Film' during the event, according to Variety.
Hogg's jury panel includes Egyptian actress Nahed El Sebaie, Egyptian composer Khaled Hammad, Iraqi-Kurdish filmmaker Shawkat Amin Korki and Turkish auteur Yeşim Ustaoğlu.
The Swiss-Iraqi filmmaker known as Samir will preside over the festival's feature documentary competition and its 'Green Star' jury. Aboozar Amini, Julie Frères, Reta Guetg and Gladys Joujou join him on that panel.
El Gouna's short films competition jury comprises Saudi director Meshal AlJaser, Tunisian director Amel Guellaty and Greek actor and director Christos Passalis.
