Göteborg Film Festival Sets 2027 Focus: Forever Young Lineup

The strand includes Joshua Oppenheimer's 23-minute short The Revolution Against Death and Maria Martínez Bayona's Cannes premiere The End of It.

The Göteborg Film Festival has announced a 2027 Focus strand titled Forever Young, according to Variety. The programme is part of the festival's 50th-anniversary edition, which runs Jan. 20-Feb. 6, 2027.

Among the titles in the Focus is Joshua Oppenheimer's 23-minute short The Revolution Against Death, which was acquired by The New York Times' Op-Docs, with Mubi releasing it in December alongside Op-Docs.

The strand also includes The End of It, directed by Maria Martínez Bayona and starring Rebecca Hall, Gael García Bernal and Beanie Feldstein. The film premiered at Cannes' Premiere section.

Once Upon a Time in Harlem, by William Greaves and David Greaves, will screen in the Focus as well. Artistic Director Pia Lundberg said the theme suits the festival's 50th anniversary.

The announcement comes as Josef Kullengård leaves Göteborg to become head of Industry & Training at CPH:DOX.
