Jack Lowden Says Bond Speculation Is Flattering but He Won't Add to Noise
The Scottish actor, reportedly among the finalists for 007, addressed the casting talk in a British GQ interview.
Jack Lowden said in an interview with British GQ that being mentioned for the James Bond role is flattering, but he will not add to the noise around the casting process.
The Scottish actor said he does not really listen to the speculation about who will next play 007. Reports have identified him as one of four finalists being tested for the role; the other named candidates are Callum Turner and Josh O'Connor, with a fourth actor unidentified.
Lowden also addressed praise from his Slow Horses co-star Gary Oldman, saying it was particularly lovely coming from someone like him.
Slow Horses and other projects
Lowden is expected to return as River Cartwright in Slow Horses season 7, which is in production for next year, and in the confirmed season 8. He is also set to appear in Apple TV's adaptation of Berlin Noir alongside Colin Firth.
In September, Oldman said the next Bond had already been cast and named Lowden on the shortlist, before walking back those comments on the Happy Sad Confused podcast. Slow Horses season 6 is currently streaming on Apple TV.
