The DC Studios co-head shared the update on a podcast whose first episode was accidentally uploaded, as Season 2 continues animation.
James Gunn has confirmed that King Shark will be a regular character in Season 2 of Creature Commandos, according to comingsoon.net. The DC Studios co-head made the reveal on the podcast The Suicide Squad: Is It Canon?, whose first episode was accidentally uploaded.
Season 2 is currently being animated. Its first episode is titled Starry Night and is written by Dean Lorey, and Sydney Chandler joins the cast as Nosferata.
Gunn also said the new season will stream shortly after the release of Man of Tomorrow, which is dated for July 9, 2027.
From cameo to regular
King Shark previously appeared only in a short cameo in Season 1. In The Suicide Squad, the character was portrayed by Sylvester Stallone, with Steve Agee providing the on-set performance.
Season 1 ended with a finale that revealed Khalis would be part of the team, and the series sits after the events of Peacemaker Season 2 in the DCU timeline. For Season 2, Gunn stepped back from writing duties, with a dedicated writers' room handling the scripts.
