Mattel Taps Condé Nast CEO Roger Lynch as Next CEO
Mattel names Roger Lynch as its next CEO, succeeding Ynon Kreiz, who is leaving for another public company. Lynch joins from Condé Nast.
Mattel announced that Roger Lynch will become its next CEO, succeeding Ynon Kreiz. Lynch will become chairman of Mattel effective Oct. 2 and CEO on or before Nov. 2.
Kreiz will step down as Mattel chairman and CEO effective Oct. 2 to take a senior leadership position at another public company. Lynch has been CEO of Condé Nast since 2019 and will continue to serve on Condé Nast's board.
Mike Perlis, Condé Nast's lead independent director, will become interim CEO.
Under Kreiz, Mattel won or renewed entertainment licenses including Disney Princess and Frozen, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Toy Story, KPop Demon Hunters, and DC. Mattel Studios' first theatrical release, 'Barbie,' was the top global box office film of 2023 and Warner Bros. Pictures' highest-grossing movie of all time.
Kreiz led Mattel for eight years, transitioning it from a toy manufacturer to an IP-driven play and family entertainment company.
